WALK #19

Pre-drought, those palm fronds would have greenly flared like eagles' wings. With drought, they huddle as they quiver in brown.

Colors are illusions

thus undependable

storytellers


But their stories

can still

break


mountains and hearts

to create

waterfalls


against cliffs and

from eyes

reluctant


to believe light

can tell

Lies
